EVERETT — Fire officials are investigating what caused a fire at an apartment complex here late Friday.
The fire started on the fifth floor of an apartment building in the 500 block of Colby Avenue shortly after 10 p.m., Everett Fire Department acting Battalion Chief Ric Cade said.
Flames were contained to one unit but water from firefighting damaged the apartment below. At least one person was forced from his home.
Almost two dozen crews were called to fight the fire, Cade said. Nobody was injured.
Snohomish County Red Cross volunteers were assisting people affected by the fire.
