Three city councilmen were absent tonight and a fourth had a family emergency so the meeting, which had two scheduled hearings, shut down fast.
One of those hearings was on allowing antique stores along portions of Hewitt Avenue. Council President Paul Roberts said the council planned to take more testimony later anyway and not make a decision tonight. Both public hearings were put off to later dates. The hearing on antiques is now scheduled for Nov. 17. the second public hearing on a street vacation is set for Nov. 3.
