LYNNWOOD — The Everett Elks sponsor a monthly event or activity at Sebastian Place, a 20-unit complex in Lynnwood for homeless veterans owned and operated by Catholic Community Services of Western Washington.
In March, volunteers brought a pizza lunch and cookies. Lunch was followed by a jewelry making session with Schack Art Center teacher Art Cass, who helped the veterans make copper rings. A variety of door prizes were awarded to all who attended.
The Elks activities began in January with a housewarming celebration that furnished the community room with a new couch, recliner and television purchased with an Elks grant. Since then, the Elks have added a DVD and video game player, bookshelves, cupboards and a folding table.
