EVERETT — Police arrested a man in connection with a residential fire destroyed a house under construction and damaged adjacent homes Wednesday morning in Everett.
Around 1 a.m. Wednesday, the Everett Fire Department responded to multiple reports of a structure fire in the alley of the 1900 block of Lombard Avenue.
When crews arrived, they saw a house under construction fully engulfed in flames, according to an Everett Fire Facebook post.
Flames had also reached a second house that was under construction. Firefighters extinguished the flames within about 20 minutes.
On Wednesday evening, Everett police arrested a suspect and booked him into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of arson and burglary.
The primary house suffered a total loss, and the second had exterior damage.
There were no occupants in either of the houses.
Another nearby home and a gazebo sustained minor damage.
