EVERETT — An Everett man killed in a stabbing was identifed Wednesday as Mark D. Giless.
Giless’ wife was arrested earlier this week for investigation of murder at their apartment on Grand Avenue.
Giless, 53, grew concerned about his wife’s mental health and wanted her to see a doctor, according to police reports. They were getting ready to go to an appointment Monday when she allegedly stabbed him in the neck.
His wife, 50, called police hours later. She reportedly told officers she attacked her husband to “keep him safe,” and that she felt she’d gone insane.
She was arrested for investigation of first-degree domestic violence murder.
An autopsy confirmed the death was a homicide, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
