BOTHELL – An Everett man accused of firing a handgun from a stolen car has been booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and drive-by shooting.
Police believe the 23-year-old stole a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass. He was chased in another car by the vehicle’s owner, a Bothell man, early Friday morning, according to court records.
The car’s owner told Bothell police the suspect fired at him with a handgun from the driver’s door window. He reported hearing four or five shots.
The man said the driver of the stolen Oldsmobile reached speeds of 100 mph.
Bothell police located three shell casings at 39th Ave. SE between the 21400 and 21600 blocks. One bullet went through the front window of a Bothell home where four people were sleeping.
The car was found abandoned in Woodinville. The man was arrested after he was detained by police searching the area. The Oldsmobile’s owner said he was the man he had chased.
