EVERETT — A 75-year-old woman has been hospitalized for four months following a road rage incident that left her with multiple broken bones.
Prosecutors on Thursday charged an Everett man, 56, with vehicular assault for the Oct. 9 crash. According to court documents, the man became upset with the woman after she pulled out in front of him on 52nd Street near Clairmont Avenue.
Witnesses reported that the man began honking his horn and tailgating the woman, who was driving a Ford Ranger pickup. The man, who was behind the wheel of a Ford Mustang, allegedly tried to pass the woman, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Ed Stemler wrote.
The defendant lost control and clipped the back of the woman’s truck, Stemler wrote. The impact spun the pickup around. The truck flipped over and came to rest upright on a fire hydrant.
The woman suffered a broken leg, a broken ankle and possible spinal injury, according to court documents. She remains in the hospital.
