Everett man dies in wreck

MUKILTEO – Gregory G. Gerst, 51, of Everett died Saturday when he ran a stop sign south of Mukilteo and hit another car, the State Patrol said.

Gerst was southbound on Russell Way shortly after 6 a.m. when he went through the intersection and over a curb, the State Patrol said. He struck a car on Highway 525, driven by a 34-year-old Mukilteo woman. She was not injured.

Gerst’s car came to rest against a chain-link fence. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
