SNOHOMISH — An Everett man who was allegedly street racing before he crashed into a truck Friday morning has died.
The man, 21, died Sunday at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Snohomish County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Jan Jorgensen said Monday.
The King County medical examiner did not release his name.
The crash happened about 1:35 a.m. Friday on Cathcart Way.
The Everett man and another man, 20, had been racing just before the crash, Jorgensen said. The second man had dropped back but the other man lost control of his Honda Civic, skidded broadside across the median and struck Marlin "Duke" French, who was driving a Ford Ranger.
French, 60, broke his leg and sternum. He also has broken ribs and internal bleeding.
He remained at Harborview in the intensive care unit Monday, said his daughter, Jessica Ford.
Jorgensen said criminal charges could be filed against the other man who was racing.
