EVERETT — A man was hospitalized Friday after suffering possible burns and smoke inhalation in an Everett house fire.
The fire broke out about 5:15 p.m. at a fourplex in the 1600 block of Eighth Avenue W. Crews remained at the scene Friday night checking for hot spots, Everett city spokeswoman Kate Reardon said.
Firefighters rescued the man, who had been trapped on the second floor. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
No other injuries were reported, Reardon said. The American Red Cross was on scene helping those displaced.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation. Damage was estimated at $400,000.
