UNION — A Mason County sheriff’s spokesman said an Everett man in his late teens has been rescued from Hood Canal after the small boat he was riding in with three other people began taking on water and he was dumped into the canal.
Sheriff’s spokesman Dean Byrd said others from the boat and a passer-by helped get the man to shore Wednesday afternoon. He was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His condition was not immediately available.
The sheriff’s office said no one in the boat was wearing a life jacket.
