SEATTLE – Two Everett men pleaded guilty Wednesday in connection with a four-state scheme to steal narcotic prescription drugs and sell them.
Michael McConnell, 26, admitted in U.S. District Court that he broke into an Oregon pharmacy in 2004, assistant U.S. Attorney Ronald Friedman said.
The second man, Alex E. Brand, 23, admitted participating in the illegal distribution of prescription drugs.
U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik is scheduled to sentence both men Oct. 12.
At least a dozen Snohomish County residents have pleaded guilty in connection with the scheme.
Participants hit numerous pharmacies throughout the Northwest and California between 2004 and 2006, court documents said.
In August 2004, McConnell traveled with another man to Cave Junction, Ore., to break into a pharmacy, documents said.
Lynnwood detectives and numerous other federal and state police agencies participated in the investigation of McConnell.
Brand was arrested in February 2006 after Tulalip police made a traffic stop and found a loaded gun and prescription drugs in his car.
