EVERETT — Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop wants to give away 100 bikes to families with children this winter.
But it needs bicycle donations and volunteers to help repair them. Repair days happen weekly into early December and can be scheduled. Experienced bike mechanics can work on them at home.
Over the past two decades, the nonprofit in Everett has given away over 1,500 bikes to children.
Gently-used children’s bikes in good condition can be donated to the shop noon to 3:45 p.m. Saturdays at 2531 Broadway. Parking and the entrance are at the back of the Broadway Mall building.
Once ready, the bicycles are available through Christmas House, which provides presents for children and families with low incomes.
