EVERETT — Everett police detectives are investigating the suspicious shooting and death of a 43-year-old Everett woman.
Police arrived just after 5 a.m. Saturday at 1430 Larch St. The woman was found dead, with a single gunshot wound. A 56-year-old Tacoma man known to the woman reported the situation to police and is cooperating with detectives.
The woman’s death is considered suspicious but has not yet been ruled a homicide or suicide, said Sgt. Boyd Bryant of the Everett Police Department. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy.
Detectives do not believe the incident has any ties with other investigations, nor do they think it was a random act. Bryant urged people with information about this case to call the department’s tip line at 425-257-8450.

Woman and dog rescued from cliff: Firefighters from Edmonds and Lynnwood fire departments rescued a woman and her dog Saturday from a cliff above the railroad tracks west of 9233 Olympic View Drive. The woman had pursued the dog up the cliff and then could not get back down.
The firefighters went to the top of the cliff and belayed a rescuer down to the woman, where they attached her to a harness and lowered her to the railroad tracks. They then repeated the rescue for the dog. Nobody was injured, according to information from Steve Allison, Edmonds Fire Department battalion chief.
