EVERETT — Two armed robberies were reported Monday in the Everett area around the same time.
The suspect descriptions were similar, but it was too early to say whether there was a connection, according to police. No injuries were reported in either case.
The first incident happened about 4:10 p.m. at the Little Caesars at 132nd Street SE and Seattle Hill Road. A man attempted to rob the restaurant and had a handgun in his waistband, said Shari Ireton with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office. He was not successful and ran away toward Seattle Hill Road. He was described as white and about 6-foot tall with a thin build. He wore a gray mask and a gray jacket.
A police dog did not locate him.
About 45 minutes later, the AutoZone at 1617 Broadway was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect was described as white, about 6-foot tall and in his 20s, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. The man wore jeans and a gray sweatshirt. He ran away with an undisclosed amount of money. Again, police dogs were deployed. As of 5:30 p.m., the suspect was not apprehended.
At that point, it was not yet clear if the man might be linked to a series of business robberies in town in recent months, Snell said.
