EVERETT — Police are investigating a Sunday afternoon shooting at Walter E. Hall Park that left a 24-year-old Everett man hospitalized.
Officers were called to the park about 2 p.m., Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Friends took the man to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, where he underwent surgery for what police said were injuries that were not life threatening.
Investigators are following up on leads to try to determine the exact motive for the shooting, Goetz said. The shooting is not believed to be gang related.
Several shots were fired by what police believe was a lone gunman. Detectives believe the incident was not random.
