EVERETT — More than 200 kids have participated this week in the Casino Road Futbol Academy, a weeklong soccer camp set up by the Everett police and local community leaders.
The project got so much support that the planned $50 fee was reduced to just $10 for most kids, and some who showed up later in the week were allowed to join in free, said Everett police Sgt. Manuel Garcia, one of the lead organizers of the event.
“That’s because of support from the community. They came through with donations and items for the camp,” reducing the overall cost, he said.
