EVERETT — A 15-year-old Everett boy who apparently was skateboarding while holding on to the back of a pickup was injured in an accident Tuesday evening.
Aid crews took the unconscious boy to Harborview Park, where he was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment. A nursing supervisor said the boy was in serious condition.
The accident happened in Everett after 5 p.m. The boy fell and tumbled on 56th Street SW between Ocean and Sound avenues, Everett Assistant Fire Chief Joe Johnston said. He had a head injury and a possible shoulder injury, Johnston said.
The pickup was believed to be traveling about 20 mph when the accident occurred, officials said.
Everett Police Department detectives are investigating the accident, Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Police impounded the truck but declined to release any information about the truck or the driver.
“Our investigators will talk to any witnesses that were involved and try to determine exactly what was going on at the time of the accident,” Goetz said.
