EVERETT — The Everett Public Library’s Evergreen Branch is marking its 25th birthday Wednesday with an afternoon of activities for the whole family.
While the newly renovated main branch is a showpiece for the library system, the Evergreen branch, in the fast growing south end of the city, often gets overlooked.
“We’re a cozy, tight-knit, extremely customer-service-oriented branch that has its regulars,” said branch manager Alan Jacobson.
With hundreds of people coming through the doors every day, Wednesday’s open house is a celebration of both the patrons and the staff of the Evergreen branch, Jacobson said.
Activities will include cupcake decorating, a piñata, crafts, Bananagrams and other games, and entertainment in the form of a one-man band performing on stilts.
The celebration is free and open to the public from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The Evergreen library is at 9512 Evergreen Way.
