LYNNWOOD — A former masseur has been charged with indecent liberties after a client accused him of sexually assaulting her during a massage.
Steven Lee Cook, 64, denied the assault, saying he accidentally touched the woman’s genitals during the July 6 massage.
The woman, 43, told detectives that Cook held her down and assaulted her. She said she kicked at him and told him to stop touching her. Cook allegedly asked the woman out and then left the room.
The woman told police that Cook called her several times the next day, asking for her forgiveness.
Cook’s massage practitioner license expired in May, state Department of Health records show.
The health department also received a complaint regarding Cook’s license after his arrest and launched an investigation, a spokesman said.
Cook, of Edmonds, was a truck driver before becoming a massage therapist. He was convicted of indecent exposure in 1972 in California, according to prosecutors. He also was convicted in 2002 of disorderly conduct.
