The Snohomish County District Court plans to start answering live calls next week for the first time in about four years.
The court stopped answering public phone calls in 2009 because of budget constraints.
By Wednesday, however, people should be able to reach a live operator.
“We had to figure out a way to make this happen,” Presiding Judge Patricia Lyon said in a prepared statement. “The citizens who use the court need to be able to contact the court. Now, they will be able to.”
District Court maintains locations in Everett, Arlington, Monroe and Lynnwood.
Callers may be placed on hold before reaching a live operator. Some people may be able to get district court information more quickly by going to www.snoco.org or by calling 425-388-3168 and choosing the “self service’” options.
