Extra police officers will be out on Super Bowl Sunday to look for those who move the party off the gridiron and put it behind the steering wheel.
In Snohomish County, officers from nine local police departments are participating in the emphasis patrols, according to the Washington State Patrol. They will be joined by troopers and Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies.
Troopers also remind drivers that using cell phones to report emergencies to 911, including drunken drivers on the road, is legal. Those calls help them make arrests, officials said.
