I hate to point out a snarky message. Alright, I love pointing out a snarky message.
From Our Corner blog by the Washington Office of the Secretary of State posted a picture Tuesday of the back of Tim Eyman.
The blog says “If it’s the second Monday in January, it must mean one thing our elected official wrote: Tim Eyman is filing another initiative with the Office of Secretary of State.”
Among his intiatives is a dandy for Lynnwood: A “Vehicle Owners’ Bill of Rights” that limits traffic camera-imposed fines to $30.
It’s good to have a job these days “knock, knock, knock” but on Whidbey Island, workers want to firm things up by joining a union. According to Machinists News, 220 workers at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island have voted to join the Machinists Union.
The blog says “The workers perform maintenance on U.S. Navy EA-6B Prowlers and EA-18G Growler electronic warfare jets. Some 82 percent of them voted to join Machinists Union District Lodge 751.”
I’m non union now, but I was a Teamster for seven years. Hit the bricks twice. The wage increase we negotiated never did make up for what we lost on the picket line, but we had our pride.
Behind the Blue Wall wasted no time picking up on breaking Snohomish County news. The blog notes stories about purported bad cops. Our story about a Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy who may have held a knife to his wife’s throat is quoted at Behind the Blue Wall.
It’s nice that they don’t just post the story, they include Herald writer names, my buddies, even spelled correctly – Diana Hefley and Eric Stevick.
