Thanksgiving services

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plays host to a Thanksgiving benefit concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at 10120 Chapel Hill Road, Lake Stevens.

The concert features a choir, soloists and a music ensemble, including an organ, piano, harp, oboe, bagpipe, flutes and a percussion section, including timpani. They will perform folk hymns and an "Americana" repertoire.

Organizers plan to collect food for Lake Stevens food banks.

Admission is free. Nonperishable food donations are appreciated.

Concerts

The Windjammers Barbershop Chorus presents "It’s Christmas All Over Town" at 2 p.m. Nov. 30 with Victory and the Northlake Choir at Northlake Lutheran Church, 6620 NE 185th St., Kenmore, and at 2 p.m. Dec. 7 with Voices Northwest and West Coast Fusion at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1305 Pine Ave., Snohomish.

The event features the Windjammers Chorus and Quartets and special guest groups.

festivals and bazaars

The United Methodist Women host a Teddy Bear Christmas fundraiser from noon to 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 2005 Colby Ave., Everett. Funds raised will go to the Everett Gospel Mission and the Deaconess Children Services.

New teddy bears will be available for adoption, with an adoption certificate, for a fee ranging from $1 to $5.

Church of Divine Man Psychic Institute offers a Holiday Craft Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 29 at 2402 Summit Ave., Everett.

The event features vendors offering items for sale, psychic readings and aura healings; bow-making and other workshops. Admission is free and childcare is available.

Programs and Classes

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church plays host to an informational meeting with the Rev. Joseph Ssebayigga from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hensen Hall, 2617 Cedar Ave., Everett.

Ssebayigga is priest of the Bugonga Parish in Entebbe, Uganda. He plans to share stories of Ugandan children and to discuss a proposed school building.

The Everett Rotary Club and others are considering helping to build a school on the Bugonga campus for the roughly 350 orphans there. The school is providing free education, infant care and a noon meal for the orphans.

Admission is free. Those who attend are asked to bring cookies to share. Beverages will be provided.

Woodinville Unitarian Universalist Church invites the public to "The Healing Power of Gratitude," with local author, life and business coach and Reiki master Victoria Leo at 10 a.m. Nov. 30, 19020 Woodinville-Duvall Road, Woodinville.

Leo is the author of "Take Back Your Lost Heart: A Toolkit for Living with Courage and Caring in the Turbulent 21st Century." She is the author of 14 published books and has worked as a life coach since 1993.

Kathi Myron offers Breath of Life Yoga, a Christian yoga class at 9 a.m. Saturdays at The Stevenson Building, 16521 13th Ave. W., Suite 104, Lynnwood. The classes offer exercises to strengthen and improve flexibility set to contemporary Christian music.

Catholic radio program "Conversations with Father Bob" features guest John Clapp, the church history teacher at Archbishop Murphy High School in Everett.

The program is scheduled for today, Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday on Christian radio stations.

Clapp plans to talk about the French Revolution, its impact on the Second Vatican Council and how it still affects Catholics today.

Volunteer

Warm Beach Christian Camp and Conference Center seeks volunteers for its Thanksgiving Working Weekend Thursday to Sunday to help prepare for The Lights of Christmas, its annual holiday tradition. Volunteers are needed to help transform the grounds into a holiday wonderland by hanging lights and setting up indoor and outdoor displays, murals, garlands, wreaths, ribbon and holly.
