Our Savior’s Lutheran Church presents a 40th anniversary celebration, salmon barbecue and open house from 10:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at 215 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett.

The free program cele­brates the church’s 40 years in Everett’s View Ridge neighborhood. Worship services are at 9 and 10:30 a.m. with an “EveryOne Faire” from 10 to 11 a.m. featuring prizes and games for children.

The Take a Vet to Lunch Organization presents a dinner to thank veterans at 5 p.m. Sept. 13 at Assembly of God Church, 201 N. Stillaguamish Ave., Arlington.

Those who aren’t veterans can buy a $15 ticket to attend the dinner, which includes the cost of dinner for a veteran or their guest. Individuals, companies and organizations may also host a table, which includes providing table service for eight people.

The evening includes entertainment, a slide show and door prizes. Seating is limited to 200 people.

The guided meditations and discussions, based on Buddha’s teachings about how happiness and suffering come from our minds, provides tools on how to remain positive and peaceful in any situation.

Northshore Christian Church and Academy holds a parenting seminar led by Diane Moore, author of the book “Parenting the Heart of Your Child,” from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 13 at 5700 23rd Drive W., Everett.

Moore, a nationally known family life specialist, plans to talk about how to involve faith while parenting to kids of all ages with a question-and-answer period.

Warm Beach Camp and Global Net Productions present a two-day movie camp from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Sept. 13 at Warm Beach Christian Camps and Conference Center, 20800 Marine Drive, Stanwood.

The camp for ages 14 and up provides skills in filmmaking and on producing Christian and family-friendly media. Local producer-filmmaker Michael Lienau and actor Grant Goodeve are scheduled to attend.

The cost is $359 per person for both days with dormitory-style housing or $249 per person for a commuter. Meals are included. Applications are available online.

Christ the King Lutheran Church plays host to Walk Through the New Testament, a one-day Bible seminar co-sponsored by four Snohomish churches, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 13 at 1305 Pine Ave., Snohomish. Sign-in and coffee is at 9 a.m.

The Rev. Lowell Stime, a faculty member of Trinity Lutheran College in Everett, plans to present an interactive, nondenominational seminar for youth and adults about key events, people and places in the New Testament.

The cost is $15 per person or $30 per family and includes lunch, snacks and a participant’s book. Child care is available upon request.

Edmonds Adventist Church presents David Harsh in concert from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 at 8625 196th St. SW, Edmonds.

Harsh is a Washington native who plays a mix of acoustic Christian folk, rock and pop. The event is free.

Everett’s First Presbyterian Church plays host to its second annual end-of-summer concert and ice cream social by Summer Aire at 3 p.m. Sunday at 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.

Summer Aire, a group of musicians and singers from The Everett Chorale, First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church and others, plans to present a program called “Singing Broadway.” Songs include music from “Rodgers and Hammerstein on Broadway,” “The Secret Garden” and “Camelot.” The concert is free.

Pointman International Ministries, a Christian ministry to veterans, hosts monthly support group meetings for veterans at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at 417 Main St., Sultan. The nondenominational group provides “outposts” led by Christian veterans in cities across the U.S. and parts of the world. It publishes a newsletter, provides information about post-traumatic stress disorder, hosts a Web site and helps veterans in its local communities. The group is planning a clothing drive for veterans and a Saturday coffee hour.

The chat features real-life testimonies to help young adults face societal pressure.

Kern is author of the Live Free series including “Scars That Wound: Scars That Heal — A Journey Out of Self-Injury,” “Seduced by Sex: Saved by Love — A Journey Out of False Intimacy” and her newest book releasing this month, “Eyes Online: Eyes On Life — A Journey Out of Online Addictions.”

Women’s programs

Martha Stanley plans to talk the place Israel holds in scripture. A time of prayer for Israel and the Jewish people is planned.
