Eastmont’s Prince of Peace-Lutheran Church celebrates 50 years in Everett. Services of Holy Communion are 8:30 and 10 a.m. Sunday with refreshments at 2:30 p.m. and a celebration program at 3:30 p.m. at 9320 Meadow Way, Everett.

Organizers plan to show a video of church highlights over the years. Retired pastors Bernt Dahl, Kenneth Daugs, Richard Shouse, John Ericksen and John Greeny will be honored.

Aug. 3 marks 50 years to the day when, in 1958, Bernt Dahl was officially installed as pastor of the congregation and the first church structure on Meadow Way was dedicated.

Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church holds Friendship Trek vacation Bible school from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to Thursday for kids 4 to 12 at 12810 35th Ave. SE, Everett.

Grace Lutheran Church in Everett presents The Son Harvest County Fair, a vacation Bible school from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Friday . The evening starts with dinner at 5 p.m. and is followed by the program at 6 p.m.

The event ends with a Family Fun Fair on Aug. 10.

Free summer concerts in Bothell at Canyon Hills Community Church. A Summer Concert Series is 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 27 with a barbecue dinner from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by the concert at 7 p.m. at 22027 17th Ave. SE, Bothell.

The line up includes: The Voetberg Family, Aug. 6; Warren Barfield, Aug. 13; Big Daddy Weave, Aug. 20 and Rend The Heavens, Aug. 27.

The concert is free with bounce houses for kids.

The cost for food is $4. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged.

Film showings

Churches hold free movie nights. First Presbyterian Church of Everett presents the movie “On the Waterfront” Friday.

Movies nights are from 6 to 10 p.m. at 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Food and board games are planned before and after the screening.

Hear from Lebanon missionaries at Memorial Community Church. Daniel and Sarah Chetti, missionaries to Lebanon are special guests. The service beings 10:30 a.m. Sunday at 710 Pecks Drive, Everett.

The Chetti’s plan to speak during the morning worship service. The couple, who work through the Arab Baptist Theological Seminary in Beirut, were among the first missionaries allowed into Lebanon. They stayed in the country during the 2006 war.

Tune in for a Catholic radio program with St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The radio broadcast “Conversations with Father Bob” is today, Tuesday and Thursday from 8 to 9 a.m. Saturdays on KKNW (1150 AM) and from 5 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 to 10 p.m. Thursdays on KBLE (1050 AM).

This week’s guests include the Rev. Michael Ryan, who plans to talk about his work with Catholic Relief Services and his recent trip to Rwanda, and author James Francis Smith, who plans to talk about his upcoming novel “The Life and Times of Liam O’Donnell.”

Help orphans in Uganda. Tyler Anderson, medical director of Rafiki Orphan Village Uganda, is the host of a community open house from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the Highland Christian School auditorium, 135 S. French Ave., Arlington. Presentations are 1 and 2:30 p.m.

An Eat for Africa fundraising dinner is 4 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, 210 W. Division St., Arlington. Attendees should tell the hostess they are with the Rafiki dinner.

Anderson and his family recently returned from a two-year trip to Uganda, where they worked with orphans. The Rafiki Foundation needs Christian medical staff and other workers including doctors, nurses, medical assistants, lab technicians and front office staff.
