Holy Cross Lutheran Church invites its current and former members and the public to cele­brate Reunion Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The event is part of a yearlong celebration of the church’s 25th anniversary in the Lake Stevens area.

Former pastors, Ernie Pihl of Everett and Jim Johnson of Spokane, along with current pastor Susan Kirlin-Hackett, will lead a worship service. A luncheon will follow.

Programs

St. Mary of the Valley Church in Monroe presents Rita L. Marker for a presentation on “Assisted Suicide: What does it mean for us and our families?” at 7 p.m. Tuesday , Monroe High School Performing Arts Center, 17001 Tester Road.

Oregon is the only state that gives doctors power to help patients commit suicide without a family’s knowledge. Former Washington governor Booth Gardner is working to bring Oregon-style assisted suicide to Washington.

Temple Beth Or presents Shabbat services. A mid-month Saturday Shabbat, conducted by Randy Jergensen, is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 19, with music by Sheryl.

Women’s events

The Calvary Baptist Church MOPS group meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month.

Mothers of Preschoolers is a group intended for all mothers of infants to preschoolers and for pregnant women.

Edmonds Aglow Community Lighthouse presents “Creative Ways to Accessorize” by Sarah Williams, 7 p.m. Monday at the Olympic Room, Harbor Inn Hotel, 130 W. Dayton St., Edmonds. Those who attend are asked to bring an accessory item, such as a piece of jewelry, a scarf or a pin to exchange with others.

Williams is an Aglow member from the Bellevue and Kirkland area. She will share tips on how to accessorize.

Kitty Jones offers “Learn to Let Go and Grow,” a series of Christian-based women’s workshops for emotional recovery and personal growth.

Two eight-week workshops are scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m., one starting Tuesday, a second starting Thursday.

Those new to the workshops are encouraged to attend the Thursday sessions.

The workshops take place at the Old Snohomish Library, 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish.

They are open to all women, but registration is required.

The American Association of University Women of Washington, Everett branch, presents a special presentation, “10 Ways to Reclaim and Sustain Your Personal Power” by Cathy Angell, a Bellingham author, photographer and motivational speaker, at 10:30 a.m. April 12 in the Everett Senior Center meeting hall, 3025 Lombard Ave.

Angell’s presentation combines storytelling, drumming and photography.

Life Changes Ministry Church of Everett and All Star Massage and Spa invite the public to “Women Helping Women,” a spa event from noon to 5 p.m. April 13 in Bellevue. The event will help raise money and supplies for “Queen, It’s a New Day,” an event in May.

The spa fundraiser will take place at All Star Massage and Spa, 9 Lake Bellevue Drive, Suite 112.

Massage and facial treatments will be available for a donation to “Queen, It’s a New Day.” Suggested donations are $40 for a 30-minute massage, $45 for a 30-minute facial, $70 for a one-hour massage, or $75 for a one-hour facial.

Faith Community Church hosts Seattle Pacific University’s contemporary music rhythm section and vocal ensemble Unlimited at 9 a.m. Sunday. The group, comprising 10 local university students who are vocal and instrumental artists, will perform a variety of contemporary, gospel and classic numbers.

North Creek Presbyterian Church presents a GriefShare video seminar and support group from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursdays for 13 weeks in the Fireside Room of the church. The cost is $12 for sessions and a workbook.

The group is designed to support those grieving the death of any significant person.

Seniors Breakfast

St. Michael’s Catholic Church and Snohomish Seniors offer a breakfast from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. today.

The public is invited to bring family and friends to enjoy pancakes, waffles, French toast, eggs, biscuits and gravy, ham or sausage, juice and coffee or tea.

The cost is $4 for adults and $3 for children.
