WOMEN’S EVENTS

Registration is open for the next two series of the Christian-based Learn to Let Go and Grow workshops set for 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Old Snohomish Library, 105 Cedar Ave., Snohomish. Each of the evenings features a different series. Members select one seven-week series.

Workshops are open to all women who register in advance.

First United Methodist Church presents a Martin Luther King Jr. celebration at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The event will feature the MLK Celebration Choir, Prodigies for Peace essay winners, youth presentations and special guest speaker Georgia McDade.

Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church presents a Mardi Gras-style dinner, silent auction and cake walk at 6 p.m. Feb. 2.

Proceeds will go to Washington Flood Relief and the Marysville Food Bank.

Dinner is $5 for adults and $3 for children. All attendees are encouraged to bring cans of food for the food bank.

Temple Beth Or plans to celebrate Tu BiSh’vat, the “New Year of the Trees,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Seder ceremony is held with prayers, songs and foods that celebrate the renewal of the land.

CLASSES

The Carmelite Institute of Spirituality presents Extraordinary Favors, Part 2.

The class will focus on imaginary visions, visions of spiritual substance, visions of hidden things, visions of God and the soul, and the Holy Trinity. The presenter for this class will be Charles Garrity.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a sack lunch; coffee and tea will be provided.

The Snohomish Community Church presents a class on marriage from 5:45 to 8:45 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 26 to March 8.

The seven-week course includes dinner and teaching to strengthen marriage relationships. The course is $45 and will be at Snohomish Community Church, 13622 Dubuque Road, Snohomish.

Chabad Jewish Center of Snohomish County continues its course on the mystical view of human nature, Ten Steps to the Inner You.

The 11-week winter series for Wednesday night Kabbalah continues at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Chabad Jewish Center, 19 W. Intercity Ave., Everett. The class is open to adults; teenagers are welcome at parents’ discretion. The class is free; no registration is required.
