Recorder ensemble: A new musical group for people who play or are interested in learning to play the recorder begins 11 a.m.-noon today at Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Ave. W. The group will meet three or four Saturdays to learn basics, then switch to every third Saturday on its way to being a beginning woodwind ensemble. Bring your recorder; some extras available. Benefit concert: Because of the Brave II, a benefit concert for Operation Xtreme at CRISTA Camps, is set for 7 p.m. Sunday at the Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Operation Xtreme offers school-aged military children the opportunity to spend a week at summer camp.
