MLK Day event, Everett: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Celebration, featuring the Martin Luther King Community Choir, 3 p.m. Sunday at Spirit of Grace Methodist Church, 3530 Colby Ave., Everett. Keynote speaker is Julia Hampton, co-pastor of Seattle International Church.

Concert: The Salish Sea Players will perform chamber music from the Baroque era, 6 to 7:15 p.m. Sunday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Blvd., Everett. Part of the church’s Celebrating the Arts concert series. The Players includes violinists Linda Melsted and Olga Hauptman and harpsichordist Fred Hauptman. A free-will offering will be taken. Mormonism 101: “The Mormons Next Door,” a multimedia panel presentation explaining the practices and faith of Latter-Day Saints, will be held 7 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Snohomish Library, 311 Maple Ave. The event is aimed at non-Mormons who are curious about their LDS neighbors. Carmelite Day of Recollection: The Rev. Bethany Hymn Sing: Join the Rev. Terry Ollar and the Hymn Sing Orchestra for a night of inspirational gospel music, 6 p.m. Jan. 26 at Bethany Christian Assembly, 2715 Everett Ave., Everett. The night will combine congregational singing of the great hymns with some of the Northwest’s finest groups ministering in song. Seating is first-come, first-served.

Artists at the Organ: Sharon Porter Shull performs at 7 p.m. Jan. 26 as part of Trinity Lutheran Church’s Artists at the Organ series, featuring local organists from around the region and the church’s 35-foot Pasi organ. Shull is minister of music at Agnus Dei Lutheran Church in Gig Harbor. Her program includes works of Buxtehude, Krebs, Mendelssohn, Guilmant and Bach. Meetings, classes

Apologetics Forum: The next meeting of the Apologetics Forum of Snohomish County will be held at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at Atonement Free Lutheran Church, 6905 172nd St. NE, Arlington. River of Life: Free classes are offered at River of Life Community Church, 5218 S. Second Ave., Everett. “Make Your Own Laundry Soap for $0.06 Per Load” will be held at 10 a.m. today. A personal finance class, “War on Debt,” is held 12-1 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of the month. Community garden planning sessions are at 1 p.m. the first and third Saturdays. Other classes also are available. The classes are free, but donations to the church food bank are encouraged.

Meditation classes: “Living a Meaningful Life” meditation classes with Kadampa Buddhist teacher Ellen Morris will be held 7-8:15 p.m. Mondays, through Feb. 17, at Firewheel Community Coffeehouse, 2727 Colby Ave., Everett. Sharing the Caring: Spiritual support group meets at 6 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of each month at Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 5115 100th St. NE in Marysville. Spiritual support for families caring for disabled loved ones at home. A safe place where people can share their frustrations freely without judgment and receive encouragement and support. Arts and crafts: Immaculate Conception/Our Lady of Perpetual Health holds a No Disabled Souls art class, 7-8:30 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. Sanctuary Ministries: Provides gently used clothes from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Thursdays in its Care Center at 15533 75th St. NE, between Lake Stevens and Granite Falls. Limit two bags per visit. Donations of clothing, bedding and shoes welcome. More info: 360-386-9871.

Kloz 4 Kidz: A free clothing resource center for kids in north Snohomish County. Open three days a week. Located behind Marysville United Methodist Church, 5600 64th St. NE. Call for an appointment: 360-658-1021.

Loaves and Fishes: A free community supper is offered 4-6 p.m. Tuesdays at Sultan Community United Methodist Church, 212 Birch St., Sultan.

The Table: A community dinner at 6 p.m. Thursdays at Mountain View Church, 9015 44th Drive NE, Marysville. Children welcome. More info: 360-659-0445.

Community meals: 5-6:30 p.m. the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road, Everett. Free warm clothing also available. The ministry seeks donations of winter coats and food.

The Cove: A free breakfast and take-out lunch, 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at First Covenant Church, 4502 Rucker Ave., Everett. More info: 425-252-9191.

Meals, clothes, dental: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches, 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Clothes available some days. Qualified people can sign up for free urgent dental care from a dental van that comes monthly. Ask Jessica for details and how to sign up.

Salt of the Earth: Soup kitchen is open at noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers needed. More info: Sandra, 425-355-1042.
