Graham Kerr: former host of “The Galloping Gourmet” TV show, plans to speak at 1 p.m. today at Edmonds Lutheran Church, 23525 84th Ave. W. His talk is expected to cover a strategy for 2020 eating, which includes growing, gathering and sharing vegetables and fruits, especially those grown locally and in front and back yards. The church counts as part of its mission food security and stewardship, and aims to distribute 1 ton of food to local food banks. The public is welcome.

Hymn sing: Imanuel Lutheran Church in Everett will host an informal event to sing hymns from 6:30 to 7:30 tonight at the church social hall. Refreshments served. Church is at 2521 Lombard Ave. 425-252-7038, www.immanueleverett.org.

Father’s Day Car and Bike Show: Northshore Christian Church will host the 10th annual Father’s Day Car and Bike Show 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Big and tall: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Everett will present a special “Father-Son-Grandfather-Grandson-Uncle-Nephew” message and a chance to win a “plumber-inspired” long-tail T-shirt from Duluth Trading Co. at its services Sunday. Traditional liturgy is at 8:30 a.m., and contemporary worship is at 10 a.m. Sundays. The church is at 9320 Meadow Way in Everett’s Eastmont area.

Navy Band Northwest Five Star Brass: A concert of patriotic music honoring U.S. military veterans and celebrating our freedoms is scheduled for 7 p.m. June 27 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Admission is free. 425-252-7660.

Jewish learning class: Temple Beth Or offers an 18-week class starting 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, and running every other Wednesday, at 3215 Lombard Ave., Everett. Taught by Rabbi Jessica Kessler Marshall and Heidi Piel, class will cover Jewish holidays, life cycles, rituals, theology and prayer, and will emphasize the meaning behind Jewish practice. Neighbors in Need event: The rooftop of Lynnwood’s Trinity Lutheran Church will be the site of an event by Neighbors in Need, a ministry of the church, from noon Friday through 2 p.m. June 24. The group will occupy the rooftop to raise awareness of poverty. The ministry works in partnership with United Way of Snohomish County, the Edmonds School District, the city of Lynnwood and other agencies and businesses. It provides a cold-weather shelter, Saturday morning free breakfasts, clothing, toiletries and other help. Riverside Ecclesia Festival: “Unity for His Community,” a family event featuring a picnic, face painting and other activities, is scheduled for 12:30-5:30 p.m. June 30 at Jetty Island. Admission free, parking $3. Donation and volunteers welcome. 425-923-7975.

MEETINGS, SERVICES

The Six Steps to a Joy-Filled Life: is the title of a lesson to be presented by John Erdman at the 10 a.m. service Sunday at Everett Unity Church of Positive Living. Erdman’s talk will cover six Bible-referenced positive steps to help create joy. There will be a handout to start a personal “Joybook.” The church is at 3231 Colby Ave.

Living Interfaith Church: The topic for 11 a.m. June 24 is “Our Second Year,” a time of reflection and a look to the future. The church meets twice a month in the Alderwood Middle School cafeteria, 20000 28th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Information: www.livinginterfaith.org.

Stanwood United Methodist Church: Sunday worship times have changed. Community Worship Service: First Baptist Church of Everett hosts a Community Worship Service at 10:30 a.m. the third Friday of each month in the main worship center, 1616 Pacific Ave. Music provided by the Rev. FREE MEALS, CLOTHES

Salt of the Earth Soup Kitchen: noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers, able to lift 50 pounds and use stairs, are needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up. A box truck, the size of a U-Haul truck, is needed to pick up food for food banks. The Open Table: Marysville United Methodist Church hosts a free community lunch 1 to 2:30 p.m. third Thursday of each month. Church is at 5600 64th St. NE, Marysville. To volunteer or donate, call 360-659-8521.
