Trunk-or-Treat, Everett: 4-6 p.m. Oct. 31 at Faith Lutheran Church, 6708 Cady Road, Everett. Families are welcome to come to this free Halloween event that transforms car trunks into holiday displays.

Socktoberfest: Area homeless are invited to receive new socks and take a hot shower while enjoying live music, bratwurst, locally brewed root beer, cookies, door prizes and more at this annual event, 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran College, 2802 Wetmore Ave. Up to 260 pairs of gently used shoes also will be given away. The ministry also seeks donations of warm jackets, sweaters and socks, as well as volunteers.

Meals, clothes, dental: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches, 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month at Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave., Everett.
