Children’s hospice forums: Father Alexander Tkachenko, founder of St. Petersburg Children’s Hospice, will speak about his efforts establishing and running this Russian ministry during and after the 8 and 10 a.m. services Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 2301 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Retirement reception: Cheryl Lovgreen, a longtime teacher at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Preschool, is retiring after nearly 22 years. A reception to honor her is set for 12-2 p.m. Sunday following the 10:30 a.m. worship service at the church, 615 E. Highland Drive, Arlington. Garage sale: Teens will hold a garage sale/vendor show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 25 to raise money for summer Bible camp. It will be held at Fellowship Baptist Church, 14125 Smokey Point Blvd., Marysviile.

Retirement celebration: Sandy Lane is retiring after more than 20 years as director and lead teacher at Praise and Promise Preschool in Arlington and Marysville. Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Marysville plans a retirement celebration from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. Current and former students and their families are encouraged to attend. Your Neighbor’s Faith: Pastor Alan Dorway hosts the next session in this weekly traveling church series, 7 p.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. 50th Anniversary: Saint Timothy Lutheran Church in Edmonds celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and will hold a festive worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Meals in Everett: Gold Creek Community Church provides a free hot meal and sack lunches, 5-6 p.m. the first, third and fifth Sunday of the month in the parking lot of Central Lutheran Church, 2702 Rockefeller Ave. Clothes available some days. Qualified persons also can sign up for free urgent dental care from a dental van that comes once a month. Ask Jessica for details and how to sign up.

Salt of the Earth Soup Kitchen: Noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up.
