Living Interfaith: Living Interfaith Church’s next service will focus on “MLK Day: Pondering Freedom” at 11 a.m. Sunday in the Alderwood Middle School cafeteria, 20000 28th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Unity Church: “Don’t Kill My Cat” is the topic of a lesson to be presented by John Erdman at the 10 a.m. Sunday service at Everett Unity Center for Positive Living, 3231 Colby Ave., Everett. Meetings, Classes

“Beyond 2012” classes: Local author, yoga instructor and radio commentator Roy Holman presents a four-class series at the Everett Unity Church of Positive Living called, “Beyond 2012: Wake Up!” Attend any or all of the four classes and receive a copy of his book, “Healing Self, Healing Earth.” Classes touch on a variety of topics, including meditation and an energy shift update. Learn to read Hebrew: A five-week crash course in reading Hebrew runs 7:30-9 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 28 through Feb. 25, at Chabad of Snohomish County, 19626 76th Ave. W., Suite B, Lynnwood. The course is designed for those with little or no basic knowledge of the Hebrew language. Suggested donation is $54, which includes a textbook. Chabad classes: The next Wednesday night class is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 30 on the topic of “Theism vs. Deism: Does G-d Really Care?” Does He dwell in the abstract or does He take interest in our personal affairs? Faith Lutheran Church free community dinner: Next dinner is 5-6:30 p.m. Feb. 5. Dinners are held the first and third Tuesdays of the month for everyone who needs a hot meal and enjoys conversation. The menu for Feb. 5 features Mexican food: fajitas, rice, beans, salad, tortillas and dessert. Referrals to other community services are also available. Everyone welcome. Salt of the Earth Soup Kitchen: Noon Tuesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2531 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Free sack lunches or hot meals served to the homeless, low-income seniors and families, and kids on the street. Volunteers needed to help cook, set up, serve and clean up.
