In the Northwest the fall is a great time to plant. Temperatures are milder and that glorious fall rain is great for rooting plants.
Lucky for us then that the plant sales aren’t through. The Northwest Horticultural Society is holding its annual sale today and tomorrow (Sept. 12 and 13) at Warren G. Magnuson Park, 7400 Sand Point Way, Seattle.
The hours are noon to 6:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. For more information, call 206-527-1794 or go online to www.northwesthort.org.
P.S. Fall also is a great time to transplant. Set get out your shovel and move plants that are bothering you. Yes, you can do that! Just make sure and give those transplanted plants a good drink of water once they’re in the ground. They’ll need more water than usual until they’re established.
