MARYSVILLE — An active shooter threat Tuesday morning at Marysville Getchell High School was deemed a false alarm, authorities said.
At about 9:45 a.m., an unknown caller reported an active shooter at the high school. The school was placed on lockdown as police investigated. Marysville police reported there was no threat to the campus.
“All calls whether considered legitimate or not are taken seriously and the police remained on campus until all areas were checked and verified and deemed no threat,” the school district wrote in a Facebook post.
The Marysville Police Department noted similar false reports in other counties in Washington.
At the other high school in the city, Marysville Pilchuck, a freshman student killed four classmates in 2014.
