Snohomish County has updated its Web site with information to help farmers find their way through county government.
The “Focus on Farming” initiative was started to improve farmers’ access to county services. “Focus on Farming” online services – which include zoning maps, permit information and a message board – can be reached through the county’s home page at .
Adding agricultural information is the latest update to the county’s Web site. Earlier this month, the county launched the second phase of SnoStat.
SnoStat provides statistics from the county’s various departments. People using SnoStat can see, for example, how many landings and takeoffs have happened each month at Snohomish County Airport-Paine Field, or learn how many people have been detained in the county jail each month.
Details on nine county departments have been added to SnoStat.
The third phase for the project, which will include information on the county’s budget, should be ready by April 2005.
Snohomish County has been named one of the leaders in online counties nationwide. The National Association of Counties and the Center for Digital Government recently ranked the county sixth nationally in its digital counties survey.
County officials say Web site visits topped 226,000 in May, up more than 13 percent since January.
