MONROE — The Federal Emergency Management Agency flood disaster recovery center opened Tuesday at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds.
Until further notice, the hours of the center are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Federal emergency officials can be found in fair building 501, 14405 179th Ave. SE. They plan to present a variety of assistance programs.
Residents who suffered damage during the January floods are encouraged to call 800-621-3362 or go to www.disasterassistance.org to begin the disaster assistance application process. Registration is available until March 31. After documenting their losses, people are asked to go to the disaster recovery center in Monroe.
Farmers are encouraged to call the Farm Services Agency at 425-334-3131, ext. 2, to report flood damage. Owners of small businesses also can get help by calling 800-659-2955.
