FIFE — Fife Police Chief Brad Blackburn says he was just doing his job when he ran into a burning home and rescued a woman.
He was driving home Monday when he was flagged down at the burning house. KOMO-TV reports he kicked down the door and found 69-year-old Francine Campbell. Then he went back inside for Campbell’s 84-year-old disabled mother.
Smoke drove him out, but he helped direct arriving firefighters to the woman. She was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.
