MARYSVILLE — A house fire in north Marysville “significantly damaged” two homes, killing two dogs trapped inside, according to the Marysville Fire District.
Around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, firefighters responded to a report of a single home on fire north of Lakewood Crossing. Responders arrived to find two homes engulfed in flames, and firefighters worked to contain the fire, authorities said.
Everyone inside both homes made it out safely, but two dogs died, according to the fire district.
Both homes sustained significant damage. The Red Cross was helping two adults displaced from one of the houses. Investigators were determining the cause of the fire.
“Please check your smoke alarms today. Working smoke alarms can give your family a much better chance of surviving a fire,” the fire district said.
