EVERETT — Firefighters rescued a family dog from a burning house early Friday morning, the Everett Fire Department said.
Crews found flames shooting 30 feet into the air after rushing to the house in the 300 block of E. Beech Street at 12:16 a.m., Assistant Chief Glen Martinsen said. The fire began inside the two-story wooden house and spread into the attic. A propane tank for a grill at the back of the house helped fuel the fire.
No one was inside, but firefighters rescued a dog, Martinsen said. Initial estimates put damage at $200,000. No injuries were reported.
The cause was under investigation.
