PORTLAND, Ore. — A massive fire at a Portland marina destroyed a warehouse in which hundreds of boats were stored.
Portland Fire &Rescue responded to the Sundance Marina late Sunday. The marina dry docks boats inside a warehouse in a stacked system. A bureau spokesman says about 350 boats were in the structure, which collapsed during the four-alarm fire.
The storage facility is at the end of Hayden Island, and firefighters used water from the Columbia River to douse the flames.
Investigators have yet to determine what caused the blaze or provide a damage estimate.
