CHEHALIS — A fire has destroyed a house and apartment building near downtown Chehalis.
No one was injured in the fire early Tuesday, but The Chronicle reported that 10 residents were displaced.
Riverside Fire Chief Jim Walkowski said firefighters responded about 4:30 a.m. and found the apartment building fully engulfed with flames jumping 20 feet to the adjacent house. The roofs on both buildings partially collapsed before the fire was out.
Eight people lived in the apartments and two in the house.
Walkowski said one man was treated at Providence Centralia for smoke inhalation.
