LAKE STEVENS – Firefighters battled a two-alarm blaze near Lake Stevens this afternoon at a mobile home park in the 9200 block of 13th Place SE.
The fire destroyed one home, Lake Stevens Deputy Chief Dave Lingenfelter said.
Crews were called around 2:30 p.m. to reports of three mobile homes burning. By 3:30 p.m., the fire was out.
When firefighters arrived, one home was burning and other homes were threatened, he said.
One home was destroyed and another was damaged.
Apparently the residents tried unsuccessfully to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher, Lingenfelter said.
All those who were in the home got out but as many as four pets may have died. No one else was hurt.
The Red Cross was responding to help the displaced family, and the neighborhood association was planning to collect donations.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal is investigating.
