ARLINGTON — Chief Travis Hots is resigning from Fire District 21 in rural Arlington.
Hots will remain as chief at Fire District 22 in Getchell.
Hots submitted a 90-day notice to District 21 earlier this week, fire commissioner Eric Nordstrom said. The district’s commissioners had not sought the resignation, Nordstrom said.
“It’s not what we wanted,” Nordstrom said.
The two districts had shared Hots as a chief for several years. In recent months, they also were having talks of a potential merger.
Those talks are unlikely to continue, Nordstrom said.
