LYNNWOOD — A small fire on Saturday morning caused shoppers to flee JC Penney at Alderwood mall.
A small electrical fire started just before 11 a.m., Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said. The flames were contained to a 5- by 5-foot area of the store, but smoke forced shoppers to evacuate.
Employees swiftly put out the flames with a fire extinguisher.
Fire crews were called to clean up.
