TULALIP — Santa Claus will begin making his rounds tonight with the help of the Tulalip Bay Fire District.
This is the 27th year the firefighters will escort Santa up each street greeting residents and handing out candy canes. The annual "Santa Run" 7-10 p.m. each night continues until the holiday spirit has covered the district’s portion of the Tulalip Indian Reservation. Neighborhood by neighborhood over about 13 nights, Santa and the firefighters will walk the roads and play holiday music. Santa also will listen if youngsters want to share their wish lists.
Firefighters also will accept nonperishable foods and cash donations toward their project of sponsoring a needy family each year. The district provides a holiday dinner for the family, along with toys for the children, fire Lt. Laine Hogle said.
