Fisherman’s body found in the Skykomish River

GOLD BAR — The body of a fisherman was found Friday morning* in the Skykomish River near Gold Bar.

The man was discovered about 9:30 a.m. in a couple feet of water, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said. His pole was found nearby.

Investigators haven’t identified the man, and it’s unclear how long he had been in the water. The body was expected to be taken to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police don’t have any reports of missing fishermen. There are no signs of foul play, Hover said.
