EVERETT — Communities around Snohomish County received between one to four inches of rain Wednesday morning, prompting a countywide flood watch.
The watch is in effect through Thursday evening, according to the National Weather Service.
Meteorologists predict an additional two to four inches of rain may fall in the mountains through Thursday morning. Snow levels should remain high until the weekend.
The runoff could raise rivers to the point of flooding, including where the North Fork Stillaguamish River meets the main stem. Arlington is forecast to get more than an inch of rain between Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
The Weather Service suggested anyone who lives near rivers prone to flooding should monitor the forecast.
The city of Marysville also is dealing with flooding from a water main break along 67th Avenue. Water was shut off to half of the Strawberry Hill neighborhood for much of the day.
