PORTLAND, Ore. — Forecasters say temperatures are staying too high to generate the heavy snowfall that had been expected Thursday in the Portland-Vancouver area and the Columbia Gorge.
They’re now saying lesser amounts of snow are possible, such as 1 to 3 inches in the Portland metro area, but they’re talking more about freezing rain and sleet that could make roads troublesome for travelers.
National Weather Service forecasts Thursday morning said a winter storm warnings have been lifted in favor of advisories to the west of the Cascade Range.
The service said warnings remained in effect in the Cascade Range and to the east, including parts of eastern Washington and much of Eastern Oregon.
